What the FDA records say

The current U.S. Mounjaro label indicates tirzepatide, with diet and exercise, to improve glycemic control in adults and pediatric patients aged 10 years and older with type 2 diabetes. The FDA label for Zepbound also identifies tirzepatide, but its approved uses include chronic weight management for certain patients. Zepbound later received an additional U.S. indication for moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea in adults with obesity.

Sharing an active ingredient does not make two branded products interchangeable for an individual. Product labeling, presentation, prescribed purpose, and availability can differ, and approvals outside the United States may not match U.S. approvals.

Why the exact product name belongs in a tracker

A clear record should reproduce the product name and details shown on the user's own label. Replacing Mounjaro with Zepbound, or the reverse, can make a history inaccurate even though both contain tirzepatide.
